Fog!

Thought I would pop out early for a quick spin on the Solent (foxes fighting woke me up early)....

Bit of mist at the mooring so had nav lights on as I motored down the Hamble which was very still. However fog is really thick at the entrance so I am currently sitting on the shingle spit waiting for it to clear.

F1 wind so should be nice once fog burns off.

I will upload some video later which will include the idiot doing about 8 knots at the entrance with 25 metres visibility!!!!

Anyone else playing today?

But we'll likely be out later... the weather looks to good not to. We were out at Newton Creek yesterday and it was idyllic! SUP boarded up the creek to the pub and generally azed around getting very sunburned!

At least I can scrape the barnicles off on the spit while I wait. Lots of scratchy oyster shells.

Didn't another forum member do the same thing on Ryde sands once??

Of course that was the reason the skipper decided to lightly beach on the sands! it was an extremely skilful move and very well executed!

I've found the sandbanks are good for cleaning muck off of props too..
As for the fog, I didn't see it this morning but I could hear the fog horn sounding at Yarmouth, wasn't sure if it was a fixed one or the ferries as they approached?
