yes the marina closes at 5pm, thats always made me avoid Newhaven as I hate early finishes esp. if its a nice day. Moan time though as Newhaven has a few slips on Boat Launch and typically none are useable, if you approach a yard you get a 'yes to using one' then they find out your a sports boat/rib and you get the cold shoulder being referred back to the one working slip. Something suspect going on there I feel.
