Found my Fletcher 12 years after selling it

by ian h » 07 Jun 2021, 21:22

I had a Fletcher 17GTS purchased new in 2003 and sold in 2009,

I knew that after my ownership the boat went to Poole but after that never knew where it was,

We where in Padstow on holiday today and walking around the outer harbour when I say the stern of a Fletcher with the leg raised,

In my ownership I had a Doel-Fin fitted to help with sea keeping, this same boat had the fin . Walking further round I could see that it was my old boat, what a surprise,

Later on in the day the boat was back on the pontoon and curiosity got the better of me and went to chat with the people on the boat,

They were surprised but also interested in my owner ship of the boat, for an 18 year old boat is was still in remarkable good condition,
They said when back home they will check all the paperwork to track its history, They purchased it 3 years ago from owner in Wales,

Was only talking to my stepson last weekend about wondering where the boat was and then it pops up.

How many other Forum members have come across a boat they previously owned ? What were your reactions ?

I saw my old Draco for sale on eBay a while after we’d sold it. Was a shame as it was looking a Little sorry for itself. Had been in the family since it was a year old, so 30 odd years and when we sold it it really was immaculate.
No idea where it is now..
