Boat Engines etc - Maintenance and Repair

Winter maintenance

by shibbs » 29 Mar 2016, 18:36

Thought I'd give an update. I finally finished today. When I say finished, I mean running and completely happy with it all.
I had the engine back together the weekend before last ready to run up but was waiting to get time to service the drive leg. Finally got that done and put back on, with a few snags on the way, which meant it coming back off a number of times, :? Anyway, all sorted.
Run up and did timing etc and she is now running sweet with the same (acceptable) compression in each cylinder.
She's run now for a couple of hours both on muffs and in water and all is well.
Spent the afternoon today cleaning and fettling, all she needs now is a good polish and anti foul and she's ready to go back in...
Roll on the heat wave....8-)
